Mirabella Being Liberal With The Truth

The abominable member for Indi, Sophie Mirabella, has joined a growing list of her Noalition colleagues being liberal with the truth. On March 21 the Puff Adder, as she is unaffectionately known by some (I’m looking at you BK ), issued a press statement on her website claiming that the “Carbon Tax” had had an adverse effect on the bottom line of brick manufacturer Brickworks (ASX: BKW). It claimed: Local manufacturer Brickworks has today released their half year report, revealing a staggering increase of $4.7 million in energy costs, including from the carbon tax. There was apparently a Newspoll taken last weekend (September 29-30), the results of which, for unknown reasons, were never released. Rumours abounded that News Limited, which owns Newspoll, were disappointed with the results because they showed Labor in front of the Noalition and were highly unfavourable to its leader Tony Abbott. The Daily Derp has previously covered how News Limited manipulates Newspoll’s results by publishing phantom leadership challenge articles in the run up to the polls being taken (Leadership Challenges And Newspoll). Last weekend also saw the scandal that blew up over the disgraceful comments made by the far right mouthpiece Alan Jones(1) at a Liberal Party function attended by several Liberal frontbenchers. Sophie Mirabella Shows Her Humanity

On the ABC’s QandA program aired on July 2 2012, the repulsive member for Indi showed just how much humanity she has. Early into the show panel member Simon Sheikh of lobbyist group GetUp fainted, the vile Sophie Mirabella was seen by a national TV audience to first look at Mr Sheikh with a look of absolute disgust, and then to push him away from her. Here is a video of the incident:   Compare the reactions of the odious Mirabella to that of Climate Change Minister, Greg Combet. Tony Abbott has made much ado lately about tainted votes in Parliament. Let’s examine just how many tainted votes each side actually has. By The Derp’s reckoning there are a total of 8 tainted votes between the House Of Representatives and The Senate. First cab off the rank (pun intended) is of course The Speaker of The House Of Representatives, Peter Slipper.
